Florida. It's a state of sunshine, beaches, condos, oranges, amusement parks. It's winter holiday destination for millions. That's the 'fun' perception of the state.

Retirement living seniors and Baby Boomers are frequently the target of election campaigns, and for good reason: they are the fastest-growing population group in North America, and they tend to have a great deal of disposable income.

And now, with the 2012 American presidential election campaign heating up, candidates are appealing for support from American seniors.

Many studies have shown retirement living seniors are one of the most active political groups, and a recent report from RealClearPolitics.com said seniors over the age of 60 have twice the voter turnout of youth voters.
