Cities to stay away from during golden years

Worst cities to retire in releasedIt is time for the baby boomers, who are starting to reach retirement age, to start thinking about where they would like to spend their golden years. There have been several lists stating some of the best states and cities for a senior to enjoy their retirement living experience, but not too many have discussed the worst places to retire - until now. MSN reports the top five cities that aging adults should stay away from.

These cities include Las Vegas, Nevada; Greater Phoenix, Arizona; Davenport, Florida; Laguna Woods Village in Orange County, California and Clark County, Nevada. These areas either have high crime rate, high taxes or a less-than-perfect housing market, and many may want to avoid them, the news source reports.

However, some of these states still have cities that can be the perfect place to retire due to good weather, tax advantages for seniors and medical facilities nearby. CNN/Money Magazine recently reported that Scottsdale, Arizona is one of the best places to live in the U.S., and may be a great place to spend a person's retirement years.
