Do Seniors Make Movies?

Yes, they do. Even if they've never operated a camera before.

Reload, a project developed to give senior citizens a short course in making documentaries, was a smash hit in Mississauga, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto, according to Mississauga News.

Hundreds of seniors participate. In Canadian Idol fashion, only the 10 best mini-documentaries are shown before thousands, at a year-end festival.

The results are amazing considering that the senior filmmakers have only taken part in a 10-hour crash course.

Asma Mahmood, and husband Arshad, developed the idea and hooked up financing through a grant from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.

Many of the films were dramatic, showing the conflict between the older generation, and their adult children.
