Anne-Michelle Daniel visited her grandfather at a local assisted living facility in Jackson, Mississippi, continually, and the good care that these elderly individuals received eventually inspired her to help as well, according to the Clarion Ledger.The facility, which is called Community Place, is now in the process of being relocated thanks to Daniel, who is now the CEO of the center. In this new home, there will be cottage-style houses, independent living areas, skilled nurses and a fishing pond. Her grandfather is still at the home, 10 years later, according to the media outlet.
"This isn't just my dream. This is our dream," Daniel told the news source. "This is their retirement and I'm going to honor that."
This kind of relocation program has not been available to a wide range of facilities across the country. According to the Billings Gazette, funding and budgets for assisted living facilities have been decreasing, as many local governments have had to cut back. In addition, some funding for Medicaid has also been cut.
