County manager of business and economic development Jeff Maultsby told the news provider that the site will be placed on a five-acre lot that the company purchased in 2009 for $3.25 million, according to The Herald-Tribune.
The new center, which will be called the Sarasota Living Center, is expected to employ around 175 workers in the next two years.
One of the more unique features that will be part of the construction is a decorative, eco-friendly glass that cost around $1.1 million.
The center itself will overlook a wetlands area and RFMS appears to be making strides to accommodate the surrounding area in the project.
RFMS specializes in nursing homes and assisted living facilities across the country and employs around 6,000 workers in centers located in Illinois, Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and Nevada.
Another substantial senior housing option is being built in Wilmington, North Carolina, according to The Wilmington Star. The center, Trinity Grove, will cost $14.9 million and be around 68,000 square feet. It will be first faith-based, non-profit facility in the city.
