Resident at the Carlisle paints mural

At The Carlisle Naples, an assisted living facility in Naples, Florida, resident Nelda Roulliard recently exhibited a brightly-colored mural of the beach and the water, according to Naples News.

She spent nearly three weeks on the painting, much of which she composed at the poolside. Rouillard is a professional artist and also spends her time creating bookmarks, postcards and mini canvasses.

"It was such an honor to be asked by The Carlisle staff to create the mural," she told the news provider. "Much of my inspiration came from the community’s beauty. My second floor apartment faces the pool area and provides incredible views."

While she paints almost every day, she also takes breaks to participate in other community activities. One of her favorites is Wii bowling.

The mural will now hang by the locker room, where many different residents will have the chance to see it.

The Carlisle Naples has a total of 257 independent living and 93 assisted living residences. There is an in-house cinema, salon and marketplace. The facility is surrounded by a carefully cultivated, tropical landscape.
