Independent living survey to be conducted by county council

East Sussex County Council wants to know what services will allow older people to continue to live independently.

To find out, they've commissioned a team that will canvass area OAPs over the next three months to figure out the proper disbursement of a £3 million grant received by the council's Supporting People partnership.

Residents will be able to offer suggestions on anything from a community alarm service to a short-term home visiting service, as well as offering ideas the county council has not thought of yet.

"We know that we won't be able to fund everything," said Councillor Bill Bentley, lead member for adult social care.

Independent living survey to be conducted by county council "That's why we need people to give us their views, fill out the questionnaire and attend the consultation events."

The multi-agency partnership usually works with older people to improve financial management techniques, find social support services, and avenues for community involvement.

Older people can fill out questionnaires by visiting the council's website and returning them by August 31 if they are unable to attend any of the events.
