The travel website SmartCruiser.com recently announced its special senior citizen discount on its Carnival Cruises Lines, which leave from ports around the country that include Tampa, New Orleans, and San Diego.
People aged 55 and older can either take a three-day cruise for $99 or a seven-day cruise to various locations for $349.
On board, traveling seniors may enjoy a buffet, a nine-hole golf course, and a spa on the deck.
There is also Carnival's Seaside Theatre, an outdoor movie theater showing movies and sporting events.
Some of the special rates are available through March of next year. Those interested should call Carnival for updated information.
There may be an added benefit to this vacation.
Recent reports have said vitamin D deficiency may lead to an increased risk of heart disease, as well as weakening muscles and bones. While people can get vitamin through foods such as fish, the most abundant source of it is the sun.
