Every day at Gilmore offers options for recreation, social and wellness activities to keep seniors physically and mentally well. Everyone has good and bad days and we respect that. Participate in as much or as little as you choose.

Outings - shopping trips, out for lunch, cultural events, theatre, and scenic drives

We have a resident panel that meets with our recreation team regularly to review the quality of programs and activities. We want to make sure that we provide interesting, fun and education programs for our residents. All residents have a voice.

Gilmore Gardens has given our Mother a New Lease of Life

In January of 2014, our Mother was not doing well. She had a back issue and was trying to manage her medications, but she was getting quite forgetful and taking medications early and out of sequence which affected her ability to cope.My Sister and I discussed the situation with the Home Care Worker and decided to ask Mom to check out Gilmore Gardens. She agreed to a trial visit for 3 nights. After 2 nights, my mom, sister, her husband, my husband and myself all agreed this was the best move for her and we decided to move her into Gilmore Gardens.She has settled in extremely well!!! She is socialising more, walking more, eating better, and has made some great new friends. She is enjoying the great food and the many entertainment options, especially when people come in and play the Baby Grand Piano. The staff at Gilmore Gardens is first class!!! They are always considerate, patient and helpful. The kitchen staff always ensure her food allergies are accommodated.The bottom line is that, in January, we thought our mother had weeks left to live. Since she moved to Gilmore Gardens she has a new lease on life and is doing extremely well and we believe we she has years left which makes us all very happy.

Over the past seven and one half years the Gilmore Gardens staff have provided a safe, comfortable, non "nursing home" environment for my 97-year-old mother. She enjoys her own suite with familiar belongings and I have peace of mind knowing she is well cared for. The many amenities available have made daily living something to look forward to and I believe the best in Richmond for both of us.

My mother has been a resident of Gilmore for about 18 months now, and I also know several other residents. I've always been impressed with the excellent quality of the staff, which I think is unequaled in our community, with respect to their care and service of the residents. They genuinely care about my mom and have demonstrated that devotion constantly, but never more than when my mom was in hospital for about 7 weeks in early 2013. When she returned to Gilmore Gardens, she was hesitant and worried about her transition; the staff were so warm and welcoming, with hugs and exclamations of joy to see her back - it was really the best cure for her concerns and such a relief for me. I have no hesitation in recommending the facility for any family that wants to see their beloved parent or grandparent in a comfortable environment, safe & well looked after.

My parents have lived in Gilmore Gardens for over 2 years now. They absolutely love it and I am so happy that they chose to live there. The staff is unbelievable, all of them. The food is delicious and there is always quite a selection. Their suite is lovely. My parents have made some wonderful new friends and enjoy many of the activities. As the only relative that lives nearby, I feel quite comfortable going on vacations, etc, knowing that if any emergency occurred, the staff at Gilmore Gardens would take care of everything. It gives our whole family peace of mind knowing that someone is available to help 24 hours a day. I would highly recommend Gilmore Gardens.
